Parental consent

Your child wants to take part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. Where they live, someone under the age of consent needs a parent or guardian to agree.
What you agree to
- Your child takes part in the Award, with an Award Leader who supports them.
- We keep your child’s details and records, as the privacy notice says.
- Their Award Leader, their Award Centre and the national Award office see what they need to run your child’s Award.
Activities and safety
Some activities, such as the Adventurous Journey, take place away from home. Your child’s Award Centre tells you about each one before it starts, and plans it with their safety first.
Changing your mind
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Tell your child’s Award Centre. Your child then stops taking part until consent is given again.
