Vetting the adults who deliver the Award
Every adult needs a clear, current check before their role works. See whose checks are missing or about to end, and record them.
Every adult who delivers the Award needs a clear check before their role works: Leaders, Supervisors, Verifiers, Centre admins, Operator admins and Safeguarding leads. We keep only that a check was made, its result and its days. We never keep a certificate.
When a role waits
When you give someone a role, it starts as Awaiting checks unless they already have every check the role needs. Until then it lets them do nothing. They see which roles wait and that your Operator is completing their checks. They never see a result.
Recording a check
Operator admins open Vetting, choose Record a check on a person's row, and give the kind, the result, the day and, if you like, a short reference. A clear check lasts for the number of months in your settings, or until the day you give. The role becomes active as soon as the last check it needs is clear. Nobody records their own check. A correction or a renewal is a new check: the latest of each kind counts.
Centre admins see the same list for their Centre and each person's checks, but cannot record.
When a check ends
Every night we look again. A role goes back to Awaiting checks when a check it needs has ended, or when you now need one the person lacks. We tell the person and the Operator's admins. We also remind them 30 days before a check ends. Record the new check and the role works again.
Your settings
In Settings, Vetting, choose the checks each role needs and how many months each stays valid. A background check is needed by every role, and you cannot remove it. Before you publish, the page says how many adults it would put on hold.
